I'v been a paraplegic for 23 years. I am 39 years old and live in Las Cruces, NM. I enjoy doing a variety of things, and I never let my chair become an obstical. It seems, there are no other spinal cord injuries in my area, and would love to meet others (SCI or other) so we could chat. I have good friends, but they do not understand all the complications about being a SCI. I have been described as outgoing and personable. My friends forget I am disabled, even though my chair stares them in their faces. I think it is because I just consider myself a person with a different mode of mobilizing...I am handi-CAPABLE! I love people of all types, and am just looking for some people to chat with. I love the discussions on this site, and find everything informative, not to mention comforting to know that I am not alone in this world, and that my concerns are similar to most everyone eles'.
Hobbies: Crafts, Skiing, Reading, Gardening, Star gazing, being with friends and family.
Interests: I would like to travel, but a teacher doesn't make the kind of salary to do much of it. Many of my interests are the same as my hobbies.
Music:Classic Rock and New Country
TV Show:No favorite shows, just what ever may be on that seems interesting
Movies:Hard to pick just one or two.
Books:Stephen King, Dean Koontz, a good mystery, and some sci-fi
People:I like people in general. But my favorite are my best buddies and my mother , of course
