48yr old married female. married 25yrs to a wonderful man. i have one child a 22 yr son. didn't have a great childhood,verbal and physical abuse. parents had psychological issues and couldn't care for children properly. i suffered from depression and anxiety starting as far back as second grade when i had a teacher who "singled me out" depression increased after birth of my son. i ended up having ect for my depression also changed medications and dr. ihave been depression free for over 2 yrs. during that time i fell injuring my rt. knee. i had a couple ops to fix it up. as a result ended up with osteoarhritisis. had first knee replacement feb 07. knee seemed ok first couple months then it got swollen,sore and i had fever that spiked up to 104. dr. drained out lotsa pus and put me in hospital where i got vanco and a pic line for home. 6 weeks iv and 5 weeks off they decided to put in next replacement. same thing happened. after being off iv antibiotic im now on oral bactrim. i've had a total of 10 surgeries to the knee. DRS. leery about 3 knee and i must say so am i. went and got second opinion at stanford uniny hospital in palo alto, ca. he said "no way" to third knee . so, i go back to my doc and decide to do a fusion. i have surgery scheduled for friday the 18th but last week decided against it . iwill have an above the knee amp. i had a mri thurs. and yesterday i had a bone scan. they are trying to see where infections at. so, this is me in a nutshell. of course, theres alot more to me and my family. but, thanks for letting me share.... bets
