About Me

♥ I don't know who I am, really. Every time I've thought I was close to knowing, something happened in my life and I suddenly found myself staring in the mirror at a stranger all over again.
♥ What I do know about myself is what I believe in. And whatever I believe in, I will stand up for, no matter what the cost.
♥ I'm a Traumatic Brain Injury survivor. I also broke my neck at c2 in that same accident. I've been living with a seizure disorder as well since the accident. From complications I ended up with Fibromyalgia.
♥ I got Meningitis from other complications as well, and ended up with a Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)leak for weeks following the lumbar puncture.
♥ I am also living with Mitochondrial Disease, a disease for which there is currently no treatment or no cure. I have my fingers crossed hoping for advances in Stem Cell research in my lifetime.
♥ I've spent the past few years in a manual wheelchair and will be switching to an electric wheelchair shortly due to the progression of my Mito.
♥ Life isn't easy, but these are the cards I'm dealt. I've learned to adjust and move on. There is no sense in "dwelling on the past" when I can live in the present and make the best of my life with what I've still got.
