We are entering as one,as since Rec had a massive stroke 4 yrs. ago that is how we approach daily life. Rec and I work daily towards the goal of regaining functional movement of his left side, which remains mostly paralyzed post-stroke. Things look promising but progress is slow. We are constantly in search of any and every thing new/old that can add more quality to our lives. Not too many adaptive sports for hemiplegics though we have had some luck in fishing and rowing. We are an active couple and let little get in our way, but there are days that life seems like we are breathing through a soda straw(really adds a new appreciation for slow, deep breathing). Like many of you we have no hands on support, so it is the two of us for the long haul. We are both past midlife issues and starting a new chapter since (in many ways regretably)having to retire early from long term careers to focus on recovery. Uncertain what lies ahead other than much love, laughter and work.
