About Me

I am a college junior and an RA (resident advisor) at a university hours away from home. I am a night-owl and in college to boot, so I find myself mindlessly surfing here or elsewhere randomly throughout the day and night. I am an only child, righthanded, mildly random and crazy, and somehow rather organized. I am currently studying kinesiology or movemet studies with a minor in disability studies. After I graduate here, I am going to physical therapy school to earn my doctorate (yeah, I know, I know, I am crazy to spend 7 years in college and to want to become a PT). Although many of my peers want to go into physical therapy for spots/athletics, I believe my unique perspective, culture, experiences, and upbringing will help me more than anything. I am the child of a mother with spina bifida and a father who is deaf/hard-of-hearing. Both of my parents' disabilities may go unnoticed by the general public, they have impacted me and I realize more and more so as I age. What interests me: Deaf culture and American Sign Language, neuromuscular conditions/functions, spinal cord injuries, people's tales of injustice, ignorance, or simple stupidity, cooking, movement, yoga, dance, sports, and Christianity.
