Grandmother to three munchkins; "mother" to three furry girls (dogs). I have been married over 33 years and have been playing with computers for over 20 years. Started with the Atari 400 where I learned to program.
I am adopted and recently found my birthmother and brothers and sister!! A joyful reunion. Now I need to find my father.
Have taught in non-credited computer classes at the local university. Really enjoyed that. I love helping people learn.
Worked at Ore-Ida for 12 years before Heinz decided to ship it to their headquarters in Pittsburgh. I was offered a job but declined. I didn't want to leave Idaho.
Went to work for a small computer consulting business. Ended up on the HP team for about 7.5 years.
Also hubby and I owned our own computer repair/build/training/software installing business for about 11 years. But with full time jobs and this on the side... burned out so closed up shop.
Still love to play with computers and help people. Love playing with graphics too.
Currently trying to get SSDI. Waiting for hearing date for ALJ.
I have chronic pain, ice pick headaches, migraines, narcolepsy, sleep apnea, tension headaches, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, tendinitis, osteoarthritis in my spine, knees, and hands, rheumatoid arthritis, tethered spinal cord, bulging discs, degenerative discs, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, depression, deviated septum, GERD, patellofemoral pain syndrome (chondromalacia), hearing impaired, near-sightedness, obesity (lifetime struggle mostly), and pilondial cyst surgery when I was 18. I have just been diagnosed with the beginnings of cataracts.
RA is the newest. So I have to go through drug trials to see what works and what doesn't.
My fibro and OA made it difficult to work the last 4 years. I was illegally fired April 2007. That put me into a deep depression. Can't find work so I gave up and went for SSDI. Hubby is also going for SSDI. His second try.
He finally won and now has a monthly income.
I've learned a lot about SSDI at The Disability Digest
Trying to rearrange house so it's easier to take care of but rearranging is a real pain. My lower back goes into spasms after a few minutes of work.
I do aqua aerobics at least once a week. I'm trying to work up to three times a week but so fatigued with all these conditions and meds.
