I am a 61 year old male,married,(11 years this August 30,and nwe never have had an argument),kids grown,(31 n 30),n live away from us n both have good jobs n make better money then we do a month.Been in wheelchair for four years,(this July),cooked for 42 yrs.was a chef for 30 of those yrs. and did maintance work on apartments and houses for 20 yrs..Then one day we went to my doctor at the VA hospital and was told that I had a nerve and a spinal degeneration problem;which is to say that they don't grow they are shrinking and gives out false information to the brain;I can be walking n they tell me that I am sitting n I'll fall flat on my kisser. My wife is my home care worker n does a pretty damn good job of it. It is going on 4 yrs.in the chir and I am still not used to it;especially when someone is staring r whispering behind my back r won't let me do something because "you are in a chair",yes I am,but I am still alive and I can still think and do things,so maybe I have to work a little bit harder at something I used to be able to do with no effort. I still cook sometimes at home, but the standing/leaning really hurts my bones.
