I have an incomplete spinal cord injury at the T12 level. I also broke my C2 and spent three months of hell in a cervical halo, followed by three more months in a Miami J collar. I have been doing PT constantly for the last year, and I have gone from having to learn to walk again, step by step, to being able to walk with forearm crutches. I am working on strenghtening my hip so it will support me, and I can move to one forearm crutch. This year has been a long time for me, but I know some of you have been dealing with your disaboom :) for a longer time, so perhaps we can learn from each other. I also have fibromyalgia which affects my perception of pain. So,I'm in constant pain and there is really nothing that helps long term, because the doc doesn't want me on narcotics. I understand his concern with adiction, but I am living in constant unrelenting pain. What's the happy medium?
