Michai Freeman is founder and CEO of Glad To Be Here, a nonprofit that provides reproductive health and wellness information to women with physical disabilities. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Michai moved to Berkeley, CA to the University of California at Berkeley. While at UC Berkeley, Michai became the first person with a physical disability to be a Sexuality Peer Education Counselor in Student Health Services, and studied a year abroad in Cairo, Egypt. In 1996 Michai Freeman earned a BA in Middle Eastern Studies. In 2000 Michai founded Glad To Be Here Inc.due to the lack of empowering reproductive health information for physically disabled women. Currently, Michai is pursuing a master's degree in Holistic Health Education at John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, CA, and trying to keep up with her bouncing baby boy.
