I am black male that has been a Paraplegic for 18 years. My spinal cord is at t-2 to t-3. I can fel some feeling down the lower back muscle close to my waist. I had a gunshot injury the bullet did not severe my spinal cord it touch it enough to cause paralysis. I still can get an erection i have no controlover it. I recently had a stage 4 pressure sore that took over a year to heal, but 3 years later i still have problems with tissue regrowth on the tail bone and still have pain in that area. I can only sit for short periods of time beacause of it. While sitting in my wheelchair i have to lean on th bed and use a chair to prop my kleg up so i don not have presssure on it or ver little. The Nurses tried to tell me its phantom pain, but they do not know what hey are talking about. Because i felt the pain in my my foot before i found out my toe was infected. During this same, time I developed a pressure Sore on my toe That caused the bone to get get infected and i lost my big toe.
