On the surface, I'm a bright, well-adjusted and reasonable person. I'm a homeschooling single mom, active in my Orthodox parish and close with my family. I have several active interests and hobbies. What lies beneath, however, is an extensive history of financial and social instability, depression, anxiety and suicidal gestures which stem from a condition called Borderline Personality Disorder. I've derived great benefit from my Orthodox faith and my personal study of cognitive therapy but continue to lead a life that is to a significant extent controlled by my emotional and cognitive dysfunction. I only recently came to accept that, indeed, this is a disability, though not one that needs to be permanent, and to seek social support accordingly. I'm grateful to have stumbled upon this site.
