About Me

My name is Abel. I am a father of one. He is 13 and the biggest part of my world. Other than him, I work (very hard), and love to be with family (some of them anyway). In July of 1995, I had an unexpected stroke. I was only 18 and had a very promising future. Earlier that year (my senior year in High School) I had just signed a letter of intent to play Division I basketball for Hofstra University (for Jay Wright who is now at Villanova - you college basketball fans will know who he is). Now, I use a wheelchair and walker, to get around, but that does not stop my ambitious nature and competative spirit. I am now the supervisor of financial accounting at one of the casino properties in Atlantic City (Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort). I have a BS in finance, and am currently enrolled at the University of Phoenix to obtain my MBA in accounting. My immediate goal is to sit for the CPA exam and have my own accounting practice. I guess I am here to meet people that can relate with me and my issues. Also, I think that I have alot to offer to someone that is looking for the same.
