Facing Disability is a web resource with more than 1,000 videos drawn from interviews of people with spinal cord injuries, their families, caregivers and experts.
Life Rolls On is a non-profit 501(c)3 that exists to be a grassroots resource that provides hope and is an advocate on behalf of young people whose lives have been affected by spinal cord injury (SCI). LRO utilizes action sports to push the boundary of possibility for those with SCI.
National Spinal Cord Injury Association
Established in 1948, seeks to improve the quality of life for people with Spinal Cord Injuries and their families. They provide a resource center which answers calls and emails and their peer network connects the newly injured with a positive peer who has been through a spinal cord injury as well.
National Spinal Cord Injury Information Network
Gives a multitude of information on spinal cord injury in the form of newsletters, pamphlets, fact sheets, magazines, and more. Also provides information on access and equipment reviews.
Paralyzed Veterans Association
Paralyzed Veterans of America works to maximize the quality of life for its members and all people with SCI/D as a leading advocate for health care, SCI/D research and education, veterans' benefits and rights, accessibility and the removal of architectural barriers, sports programs, and disability rights. We are the only Congressionally chartered veterans organization dedicated solely to serving the needs of SCI/SCD veterans.
Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation
The Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation (SSPF) helps individuals overcome spinal cord injuries and other neurological disorders by funding scientific research, medical treatment, rehabilitation and technological advances. SSPF funds its national Day at the Races program and quality of life grants to organizations throughout the country benefiting people with paralysis and other life challenges. It also provides college scholarships for people with spinal cord injuries/paralysis. The Foundation works tirelessly in its advocacy efforts both locally and nationally on behalf of the disabled.
United Spinal Association is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization formed in 1946 by paralyzed veterans. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of Americans with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D). Membership is free and open to all individuals with spinal cord injuries and diseases.
