International

Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada

The Heart and Stroke Foundation, a volunteer-based health charity, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living and advocacy.

World Stroke Association

The World Stroke Organization (WSO) was established in October 2006 from the merger of the International Stroke Society (ISS) and the World Stroke Federation (WSF), the two lead organizations representing stroke globally.

National

American Stroke Association

A division of the American Heart Association, the American Stroke Association increases awareness through education and promotes preventative health. Website has section for family and caregivers of stroke victims. Publishes Stroke Connection magazine.

National Institutes of Health Know Stroke

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) developed the Know Stroke campaign to help educate the public about the symptoms of stroke and the importance of getting to the hospital quickly.

National Stroke Association

National Stroke Association achieves its mission to lower the incidence and impact of stroke by developing compelling community outreach programs, calling for continued improvement in the quality of stroke patient care, and educating both healthcare professionals and the general public about stroke.
