Brian Cummins Memorial Scholarship

Malamazian Memorial Endowed Blind Rehabilitation Scholarship
Awarded annually to students in the Orientation and Mobility Program of the Blind Rehabiliation Department at Western Michigan University.
Courage Center - Empower Scholarship
Recognizing the importance of ethnically diverse students entering the Rehabilitation field, Courage Center offers the EMPOWER Scholarship. Administered by Courage Center through a Scholarship Committee, EMPOWER encourages and supports ethnically diverse students pursuing a career in the medical or rehabilitation field. Applicants must be a Minnesota or Western Wisconsin (i.e., St Croix, Pierce, Polk, Burnett counties) resident.
AMBUCS Therapeutic Tricycles for Disabled Children
Financial assistance to students in an accredited health therapy profession: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, and hearing audiology. Financial data: $500 to $1,500 annually.
Development Disabilities Scholastic Excellence Award for Lutheran Students in College
Provides financial assistance to undergraduates who are Lutherans and interested in preparing for a career in any area of service to help people with developmental disabilities.Financial data: The stipend is $1,500. Number awarded: Up to 3 each year.
Development Disabilities Scholastic Excellence Award for Lutherans in Nursing Programs
Provides financial assistance to nursing students who are Lutherans and interested in preparing for a career in the field of developmental disabilities. Financial data: The stipend is $1,500. Number awarded: Up to 2 each year.
Don Miller Memorial Scholarship
Provides financial assistance to upper-division students preparing for a career serving people with developmental disabilities. Financial data: $1,000. Duration: 1 year. Number awarded: 1 each year.
Exceptional Nurse offers 8 scholarships with awards ranging from $250 to $500. Applicants must be students with a documented disability who have applied to, or already been admitted to, a college or university program on a full-time basis.
Gallaudet University's Department of Social Work
The Federal Department of Education has given Gallaudet University's Department of Social Work a $400,000 grant to identify and train school social workers.Recipients will recieve half tuition scholarship throughout all four semesters, a stipend per semester, travel assistance to and from area internships, competitive and flexible graduate degree, full support to attend the School Social Work Association of America's annual conference. American Speech Language Hearing Foundation offers assistance to communication sciences and disorders graduate students/new researchers, or for master's or doctoral level students studying audiology or speech language pathology. Financial data: $2,000-$4,000. (800) 638-8255, ext. 4314.
