2date4love.com was launched this month by cancer survivor, Laura Brashier, who was treated for stage 4 cervical cancer when she was 37-years old.  Now at 50, this hairstylist from California cannot have sex due to pain. Laura’s frustration with the dating scene prompted her to start 2date4love.

Since going through her treatment, Laura says she has had trouble dating men because she’s uncomfortable bringing up the subject of sex, and yet her inability to have sex does not lessen her need for love and romance. Nor does it dim her desire for companionship and intimacy.

"It’s about finding someone to share your sacred space with to have someone in your life where it’s you against the world." Ms. Brashier said.

Problems with sexual intimacy are common among cancer survivors. According to the National Cancer Institute, some women experience premature menopause and a lower sex drive, while men may face erectile dysfunction.

Ms Brashier hopes that her website will encourage people with this shared commonality to be open to the possibility of finding love and happiness by taking the emphasis off sex.
