Disabled American Veterans (DAV)
This organization is funded by membership and donations. The DAV provides free assistance to disabled veterans in gaining veteran benefits they are entitled to. Also assists widows and military families. Special section on homeless vets, disaster relief, office directories and chapters.
Vocational Rehab and Employment Program
This page is a division of the Department of Veteran Affairs. It gives information about all the benefits distributed by the Department of Veteran Affairs. Discusses the organizations within the VA, VA Facilities, How to Contact the VA, and Application for Benefits Online. This is the place one can go to apply for veteran benefits.
Office of Veterans Business Development
”The mission of the Office of Veterans Business Development is to maximize the availability, applicability and usability of all administration small business programs for Veterans, Service-Disabled Veterans, Reserve Component Members, and their Dependents or Survivors.” The Services tab on the site includes financial assistance (grants, loans), training, laws, counseling, etc. The Tools tab includes a library and resources section, web chat, and forms. Local Resources provides information on resources by state.
National Military Family Association
This site is dedicated to helping family members of the military find resources. Information on benefits, education, deployment, government info, etc. Checklists for family, employment and educational assistance for spouses. Military family book review section for wives and children.
Blinded Veterans Association
BVA Bulletin; 10,500 members
The BVA is an organization set up to promote the welfare of blinded veterans of America. Through donations, volunteers, and membership, the BVA travels around the country to assist blind veterans. Generally, the help comes through connecting veterans with organizations and services.
