A short time ago, I received a tweet from a friend on Twitter asking me to help advocate for accessible videos on the Change.gov website where Barack Obama was vlogging. I wrote a blog post, Dear Barack Obama, Please Caption Your Videos, and put it on Twitter.  I filled out a contact form on the site and sent it in.

Today, I'm thankful--the team behind Barack Obama has added the closed-captioning feature to the vlogs!  I found this out from Henry Kisor at the Reluctant Blogger:  Now This Is How It Should Be Done.  I have no idea if any of our collective efforts helped bring about this change, but I'm very thankful for the access.

To access the captions, press "play" and then the little screen on the far right bottom.  This will bring up the "CC" option.  Press that to activate the captions.

May you all have a wonderful, accessible Thanksgiving!

This is great news. I too have a hearing disability, and closed captioning is one of my dearest friends. Thanks for advocating!
